Will he? Won’t he? Will the the face of Trad Inc. return to the battlefield? And how can I get a refund on his book?
John Henry Westen (JHW) hosted Dr. Taylor Marshall on a YouTube video/podcast on his ‘Sign of the Cross’ & ‘LSNTV’ channel today (September 5th, 2025), where amidst discussing Marshall’s new book (‘hard pass’ recommendation from me), JHW and Dr. Marshall discussed the Minneapolis Trans shooting at the annunciation church and James Martin SJs smug meeting with Prevost (Pope).
Approximately at the 7 minute mark JHW talks about the actual issues & at the approximately 8 minute mark Marshall goes on to then talk of how he was ‘punched to the gut’ on Monday morning waking up and finding Leo standing beside Martin SJ.
At 9.40 minutes he goes on to explain,
“we have been trying to be patient with him (Pope Leo), trying to be charitable, we have been saying wait and see, don’t rush, pray for him (Pope), pray for the charism of the papacy. And to wake up after all the trauma of the last week of this trans-massacre, and to see that the optics are so offensive! And you can’t say well Pope Leo he’s from Taiwan or he’s from Argentina, (or that) he doesn’t understand American Catholicism. He’s from Chicago. He knows who James Martin is….I mean, I still want to be charitable…I want to be kind, but it’s becoming so difficult. Maybe Pope Leo is going to issue a correction and say, “I never said that, James Martin. I’m not the same. I’m not gonna promote what you are promoting”. Maybe we will see that. But if we don’t see that, this is another sign…is he going to continue to lock step with the legacy of Pope Francis? That’s very difficult, I think for Catholics to accept….it raises a lot of questions…. Is Pope Leo going to speak out against it, or is this the new normal? Again, for me personally, it is so hard to accept.”
You can clearly see that Marshall is struggling with his dissonance. Sure, he is trying to be charitable, kind, etc. But if he is going to ignore red flag after red flag, and then ignoring the mother of all red flags that basically said everything about Prevost (Pope) that we needed to know, he runs the risk of being called ‘naïve’. If Marshall wants to continue being kicked to the gut by a pontificate that doesn’t care about his book or his modest and charitable personality, or his influence base (1.6 million on YouTube & 220K on Twitter (X)), it just serves to show that you are small fry to the powers-that-be in the Vatican. For Dr. Marshall’s information, Prevost, the Modernists in the Vatican, and Cupich/McElroy & co. at the USCCB cabal, don’t play by Marshall’s rules; to expect them to be kind and charitable is simply very naïve. What I mean, is that you could very well see Prevost flip this around and make a loose statement about homosexuality still being a disordered act and the rules in the Catechism still remain in force; they won’t touch doctrine; they will say that they just want to build bridges of ‘inclusivity’ for the LGBTQ, etc. and Marshall will be back to lapping it up despite knowing that this is exactly what Bergoglio and ‘Heal me with your mouth’ Tucho did with Fiducia Supplicans. If he cannot recognize that the modernists talk out of both sides of their mouth to confuse people like him, Marshall deserves to be called a simpleton. He is certainly a nice guy, but he entertains unreasonably ‘high hopes’ (read my previous blog under the same title).
I similarly found Marshall’s views below out of sync with his concern, once again highlighting and exposing his dissonance:
“Is he (Prevost) going to continue to lock step with the legacy of Pope Francis?”
he said. When Prevost (Pope) said he was committed to synodality, Marshall and the Trad Inc. spectators said that they need to understand what he meant by ‘synodality’. When Prevost (Pope) meets James Martin who said about his meeting with Prevost (Pope) that,
“The message I received was that Pope Leo will be continuing with the same openness and that Francis showed to LGBTQ Catholics.”,
Marshall and others find it repugnant, but wonder whether he will issue a clarification that he didn’t mean what Martin SJ said! This is unbelievable! It reminds me of this Sam Wise scene from the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.
If someone is going to ignore sign after sign knowing fully well the ways of modernism, that too after writing a highly touted & marketed book, I would humbly request for a refund. Because if its author is too naïve to read between the lines, and is so invested in the narrative by the powers-that-be, to such a degree that he has to tell himself to ignore sign post after sign post of red flags, I wonder how credible are his book(s), and how much can actually have been ignored or misrepresented by the author’s sentimentalism, emotionalism, and misplaced charity.
