Prayer

Oh Most Holy and Triune God, I come before thee during this month of June, which is celebrated as ‘Pride’ month, in order to beg for reparation and forgiveness for a generation that seems to have forgotten the origin of pride in the father of lies & that evil foe of thine. I/We pray that thou remind all humankind that the Most Holy and Blessed Mother of God, our Mother Mary, St. Joseph, and all the patriarchs & saints before us, were bound and attracted to the virtue of humility, that which is opposite to that celebrated during this month of June.

That a sin which cast the great foe from heaven, should be given precedence over the holy virtue of humility, is a sign that we are living in the last days. I/we bless and thank thee for giving us this opportunity to make amends and not only pray for the people who are blinded by a false idea of pride and a false sense of love, but to also pray for our own sanctification and holiness in this area, knowing that I/we are not perfect and are in most need of thy graces.

Therefore, in reparation, I/we pray for the virtue and grace of humility to be conferred on this generation, starting with myself/ourselves, all in accordance with thy will. I/We acknowledge that I/we am/are terrible sinner(s) first and foremost, needing the grace to attain the virtue of humility to the extent that thine alloweth. I beg for thine help for all people who are misled by the lies of the enemy to be awakened. Help them to recognize the suffering and death of thy Son, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, for the sake of the forgiveness of sins, their redemption, and the free gift of salvation that all need to choose by their own will. Enkindle in them thy Holy Spirit, the giver of wisdom, true love, truth, and holiness, therefore freeing them of the lies that surround them. Loosen, Oh Lord, the bonds of the enemy that have ensnared many. Free thy servants from the yoke of slavery for thy good purpose and for thine greater glory, and allow the virtue of humility to reign during this month of June that we dedicate to the most Sacred Heart of Jesus.

We make this prayer to the most Holy Trinity, in the name of thy Son Jesus, and through the intercession of Mother Mary, St. Joseph, and all the angels & saints in Heaven.

Oh Saint Michael the Archangel, vanquisher of the enemy, defend us in battle.

One can also benefit greatly by reciting the litany of humility on a daily basis during the entirety of this month, along with the above prayer. The Litany of Humility is a wonderful, challenging prayer. The Litany of Humility is credited to Cardinal Merry del Val, who was the Secretary of State for Pope Pius X. The Cardinal was known to pray the Litany of Humility every day after Mass.

The Litany of Humility

O Jesus, meek and humble of heart, hear me.

From the desire of being esteemed, deliver me, Jesus.

From the desire of being loved, deliver me, Jesus.

From the desire of being extolled, deliver me, Jesus.

From the desire of being honored, deliver me, Jesus.

From the desire of being praised, deliver me, Jesus.

From the desire of being preferred to others, deliver me, Jesus.

From the desire of being consulted, deliver me, Jesus.

From the desire of being approved, deliver me, Jesus.

From the fear of being humiliated, deliver me, Jesus.

From the fear of being despised, deliver me, Jesus.

From the fear of suffering rebukes, deliver me, Jesus.

From the fear of being calumniated, deliver me, Jesus.

From the fear of being forgotten, deliver me, Jesus.

From the fear of being ridiculed, deliver me, Jesus.

From the fear of being wronged, deliver me, Jesus.

From the fear of being suspected, deliver me, Jesus.

That others may be loved more than I, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

That others may be esteemed more than I, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

That, in the opinion of the world, others may increase and I may decrease, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

That others may be chosen and I set aside, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

That others may be praised and I go unnoticed, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

That others may be preferred to me in everything, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

That others may become holier than I, provided that I may become as holy as I should, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

Ave Maria
