Happy Feast of the Divine Mercy to one and all.
The initiative of writing to Bishop Martinelli began with ‘Fiducia Supplicans’, a document permitting ‘blessings’ to same sex couples. With Fiducia Supplicans, I see that the changes introduced by Pope Francis have reached peak unacceptance among many Catholics. I also see the slippery slope presented in this document, and the dangers of it. To add insult to injury, one of our dear priests at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Dubai, gave a sermon on the 10th of February 2024, more as a defence of Fiducia Supplicans. I thus emailed Bishop Martinelli’s office a letter on the 02nd of March 2024, and at this point of updating this blog, I am left to the conclusion that Bishop Martinelli or his office do not intend responding to further requests from this page (apparently since I did not offer credentials of the author – see my ‘About Me‘ page for more details on my anonymity).
One of the aspects of my letter dated 02nd March 2024 to Bishop Martinelli was that if there was no response from his office, I would make the letter public, which is what I am now undertaking. I however do not wish to reveal the name of the priest in the public letter. I would request those of you trying to understand the problems with Fiducia Supplicans, to please read the letter and share it with other Catholics if it resonates with you. How can we stem this tide of modernism? Yes, we will need to pray to our Lady, Saint Joseph, to the angels and saints, to Jesus the fount of Divine Mercy, and to the Father and the Spirit. Yes, we will need to fast. Yes, we will need to have masses offered. Yes, we will need to practice penance as a reparation for such grave allowances. But the truth is that it is time to wake up other Catholics; Catholics who have become too busy and indifferent to see what is going on, and yet who do not want their children growing up in a culture of sinful lifestyles need to pay attention to the dangers of Fiducia Supplicans and the real danger of modernism being imposed on us right from the very top.
